The city has designated a phone number to receive emergency/after-hours calls from residents. If a Public Works emergency occurs, this number can be called when the main office is closed. The phone will ring to an on-call employee who can determine the appropriate action to be taken. The Public Works emergency/after-hours phone number is: (801) 420-2243. This number should not be used to replace 9-1-1 when there is a police, fire or medical emergency.

The following things are classified as Public Works emergencies: broken or leaking water, sewer or PI line, road problem or condition that causes a potential hazard for vehicles or pedestrians, sewer backup, natural disaster, water outage or flooding.

The following are not considered Public Works emergencies: non-emergency water utility setup/activation, interruptions in pressurized irrigation service, wildlife, insect or pest concerns, park scheduling and non-emergency facility issues, city event or activity schedule, or non-city utility problems or outages such as electricity, gas, phone or cable.
