Ryan Di Lello and his wife, Ashleigh, who are ballroom partners, were chosen last week as two of the top 20 dancers to compete for favorite dancer in the nation on FOX TV's "So You think You Can Dance." This is the show where viewers are encouraged to vote by phone to help select America's favorite dancer.

Ryan Di Lello, age 28, grew up in Springville and danced at Charisma Studio, which is owned by his mother, Tresa Anderson. Ryan continued his dance training through Center Stage and the BYU Ballroom program where he toured and competed throughout the world. When he is not dancing with his wife, he enjoys snowboarding, skiing and wakeboarding, and would love to be an action-film star.

Ashleigh, age 26, trained at Center Stage in Orem and graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in political science. She served as a congressional intern in Washington, D.C. She and Ryan used to compete against each other in local ballroom dance competitions and became dance partners a week before they were married. The two of them together have toured throughout the world performing with the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines for the last two and one half years.

The couple currently reside in Orem.

Even though each competitor has a special dance genre, they are expected to perform in all other forms of dance such as hip hop, contemporary, ballroom, Broadway and jazz to prove to the world that they truly can dance in all forms of dance, hence the title "So You Think You Can Dance."

You can vote for Ryan and Ashleigh by calling in to the numbers provided at the end of each show. So You Think You Can Dance airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays on FOX-TV (KSTU 13 in Utah Valley).
