It's a transformational story unlike any other, and so significant that it's been on Oprah, Dr. Phil, "People" Magazine and slated for Good Morning America. "Shattered Silence, the Untold Story of a Serial Killer's Daughter" by Melissa G. Moore with M. Bridget Cook -- local Utah author -- has become a national bestseller. Moore is the daughter of the notorious "Happy Face Serial Killer" who terrorized the northwest and other parts of the U.S. during a five-year killing spree.

Meet Bridget Cook on Friday, Nov. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Confetti Antiques & Books in Spanish Fork, 273 N. Main. For more information call 801-798-0137. An interview of Cook about her book can be seen on Cable Channel 17, Spanish Fork. Cook is a Utah resident who currently resides in Mountain Green. She was approached by Moore to write her life-story after she read another of Cook's gripping biographies, a conversion story of a former high-ranking gang member who turned his life around, joined the LDS Church and is now an active contribution to society.

Moore shares her unique journey of overcoming painful, childhood circumstances to create a life of purpose and even joy.

Shattered Silence was released in stores and online in September of 2009, and has created a national stir. Within just a couple months, this story of courage and the power of choice has positively affected thousands of people nationwide. Shattered Silence is Cook's second true story of personal and spiritual transformation. The book is published by a local company, Sweetwater Books, a division of Cedar Fort in Springville.
