A public hearing was held last Thursday, October 22, to receive public input regarding the "Site Plan Review Process," as well as to gather resident opinions regarding the proposed city plan. There were no residents at the public hearing, Mayor Toby Harding closed the hearing.
The City Council meeting was then opened. The first agenda item was a road name change. It was proposed that the name of Village Round Road be changed to Woodland Hills Drive.
The name Village Round Road was assigned when the Thousand Oaks Development was being designed. That road is actually an extension of the existing Woodland Hills Drive. A resolution was passed officially changing the name of Village Round Road to Woodland Hills Drive. The name change was proposed to help clarify the road circulation pattern in Woodland Hills (WH).
A discussion took place regarding the adoption of an ordinance amending Chapter 121 of the Zoning Ordinance Book. The ordinance helped to streamline the approval process for persons requesting such approval for building a house in WH. The ordinance has gone through the regular process of public hearing, etc. and was approved by the Council.
The city has requested the addition of 16 parcel postal boxes from the U.S. Postal Service. The local office in Salem was cooperative and assisted in forwarding such proposal through channels. Mayor Harding reported that there would be a considerable cost for such an addition and asked the Council for direction as to whether he should continue the process. The Council directed him to do so.
