Katelyn Hannifin of Goshen placed 1st overall in the speed events at the Utah State 4-H Individual Horse Show, and 2nd in the overall State Show. The show was held Sept. 18th and 19th in West Jordan.
Katelyn qualified to go to the State competition in August after a very successful 4-H season.
Katelyn competed against 91 others in her age group from all over the state of Utah. She won 1st place in the speed events which includes barrel racing, pole bending and keyhole.
She placed 2nd in the State in the overall show which includes the speed events, Western Showmanship, Western Riding and Reining and a written test that challenges your knowledge of horse science.
Katelyn is the daughter of J.B. and Kristi Hannifin from Goshen and is a Freshman at Payson Junior High. Congratulations Katelyn.
