Mapoleton city workers honored

Most members of Mapleton's police department and city staff have received Certificates of Recognition for National Incident Management Protocols, Mayor Laurel Brady announced at the Oct. 7 Mapleton City Council meeting.

Mayor Brady emphasized the difficulty of taking these "tedious, difficult" classes which qualify staff in comprehensive emergency planning according to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) standards.

Recipients of the certificates are: City Manager Bob Bradshaw, City Planning Director Cory Branch, Public Works Operations Director Scott Bird, Police Chief Dean Petterssen, City Planner Matt Brady, Engineering Department Inspector Brent Seamons, Engineering Superintendent Brad Roundy, Public Works employees Dave Nedesky, Justin Diamond, Brad Lawrence, Russell Rymer and Richard Hatfield; City Recorder Camille Brown, Planning Commission Executive Secretary April Houser, Deputy Recorder Lorrie Dibble, Police Secretary Deborah Houck, Court Clerk Ashley Burt, Engineering Department Administrative Assistant Lani Bonnett and City Engineer Gary Calder.

Also receiving certificates were Police Officers Phil Bringhurst, Tony Kroff, Jeremy Bailey, Jeremy Christensen, Jake Simmons, Derek Wolfgramm and Jared Warner.
