Pam Mayfield, owner of Lehi Old Town Barber, chats with Ron Soules, of Saratoga Springs, as she cuts his hair Wednesday. Mayfield has been cutting hair for 29 years, nine of which she has spent in Lehi at the Old Town Barber. With most of her business coming from return customers, she still gets a steady flow of new interest thanks mainly to the large amount of traffic on Lehi's Main Street. Soules has been going to Mayfield for the past four years to get his hair cut. "She's more the barber and not the stylist," Soules said of the reason he enjoys coming back. The tiny, one-room shop has only one barber cutting hair and has always been a one-chair business. "It's good ... I can do whatever I want," Mayfield said, although sometimes she would like extra help to keep the shop open whenever she has to leave. MARK JOHNSTON/Daily Herald
