ALPINE -- The Alpine Arts Council and Alpine Community Theater have been working together to raise funds for a new theater they hope will become the heart of Alpine.
In an effort to help raise the required funds, they have teamed up with Bank of American Fork to get closer to making the dream building a reality.
Bank of American Fork will donate $50 to ACT for every MyRate Checking account opened until New Years Eve.
"We are pleased that Bank of American Fork has chosen to participate with us on this great project for the people of Alpine and the surrounding communities," ACT executive director Laura Snyder said. "It's exciting to see this building come to fruition and we are looking forward to expanding our programs in the new facility. We hope people will participate in this fundraiser and our other fundraisers to see this project to completion."
To get the donation for ACT, new customers can visit a Bank of American Fork branch and mention the offer, or bring in one of the mailers sent out recently, when they open their account.
"We're excited because we are still gaining momentum for our building," said Alpine Arts Council President Chris Culver. "It looks like it's going to happen."
Other efforts to raise funds for the theater include the Little Art Cottage, which is located at 242 S. Main in Alpine. It is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"We need more support in the art cottage," Culver said. "One hundred percent of every dollar goes toward the project."
